Blog Post #1 – November
Howdy Bright Beginnings Families,
We’re kicking off November with some exciting news — please join us in giving a big, warm welcome to our new Pre-K teacher, Ms. Mary! 🎉
She brings an incredible background as a public school educator and Special Education teacher, plus enough experience to make the rest of us wonder if she’s secretly fueled by espresso. Even better, she’s a proud mom of two Bright Beginnings kiddos, so she already knows our world inside and out. We are absolutely thrilled to have her join the team!
This past week, our classrooms came together to honor and celebrate our incredible Veterans. 🫡
The children learned about the different branches of the military and what it truly means to serve. And of course, kids being kids, they had questions — the important ones like:
“Do they get to drive tanks?” and
“Can I join the Air Force even if I don’t like flying?”
We let them dream big. Always.
In Ms. Mary’s class, the kids dove into a full lineup of activities, from fine-motor work to thoughtful conversations and military-themed art. They made heartfelt “We Love You” cards for veterans and created American flags using strips of colored paper. Ms. Mary also introduced social-emotional lessons about understanding frustration — which, as we all know, happens quickly when glue sticks stop gluing.
Over in Ms. Jameesha’s class, the little ones explored the theme with hands-on creativity and lots of joyful mess. They tried camouflage painting (and yes, it was messy in the best way), and used their handprints to create red, white, and blue American flags. 🇺🇸
This week wasn’t just about learning the names of the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, or Coast Guard. It was about helping our children understand that these heroes are real people in their lives — parents, neighbors, family members, and friends. Their service matters. Their work matters. And we want our children to grow up not only recognizing that, but feeling the heart behind it.
To all our Bright Beginnings families and community members who have served, we thank you. Your dedication, your sacrifice, and your strength — whether big, small, loud, or quietly behind the scenes — are deeply appreciated. Today and every day. ❤️
